03-17 MAY 2010 / METU CULTURE AND CONVENTION CENTER – EXHIBITION HALL / ANKARA

Organized by METU as a result of an increased demand, exhibition series called “Emerging Dutch Architecture” is prepared to focus on modernist approaches of 5th generation Young Dutch Architects.

Last decades have witnessed a developing sensibility of Dutch Architecture influenced by evolutionary techniques of computer based design. By being aware of the interest to understand the changing needs of society and ecology, the exhibition brings 2 young and qualified  architectural offices together, for presenting extreme details as well as diverse tendencies:

24h (evolution, sensibility, land shape)
Mirck Architecture (logic of ecology, smart suburbia, dialogue with structural engineering)

Beyond representing works done by offices, this exhibition aims to arouse awareness about Dutch Sensibility both on theoretical and practical level. Documentation of design processes and presentation of works done for various locations are collected for interpreting the Dutch way of using technology for dealing with changing conditions. The first part of the exhibition series, “24h: NeoArchitecture” and “Mirck Architecture” will be a significant highlight for a beginning that provides examples of  ”evolutionary Dutch architecture of extreme quality.”
